Traditional fare with new flair. Complement your typical menu of hotdogs, hamburgers, chicken and pork chops with Salmon with Pineapple Salsa, Grilled Baked Potatoes and Grilled Corn on the Cob. These tasty dishes not only add variety to the table, they’re also low in fat and easy to prepare.
Go beyond the Great American Barbecue to include grilled treats inspired by foreign flavors. Stick with just one region such as Asia, Latin America or Italy, or serve a mix of recipes for a multicultural feel. Try Asian Turkey Burgers, Grilled Chicken Tostados and Grilled Ratatouille.
Save room for dessert! A grilled pineapple is a delicious way to end an outdoor meal. Trim, core and peel a pineapple. Cut into 3-inch wedges lengthwise and brush with a glaze of honey and lemon juice. Grill for 4 minutes or until the surface of the fruit begins to dry out.
If you’re looking for a dessert the kids will love, try grilled fruit kabobs. Sprinkle LAWRY’S Seasoned Salt on strawberries, papaya, honeydew melons and cantaloupe. Skewer and place on the grill for a few minutes or until fragrant. Presto! You have a colorful, scrumptious treat. Take it up a level by serving over granddad’s homemade ice cream.
