SOUTHERN-STYLE GREEN BEANS

SOUTHERN-STYLE GREEN BEANS
Ingredients
3 slices bacon, chopped
1 small red onion, sliced
1 clove garlic, finely chopped
1 1/2 pounds green beans, trimmed and halved
1/3 cup water
2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
2 teaspoons sugar
1 teaspoon Lawry's® Seasoned Salt
1/4 teaspoon Lawry's® Seasoned Pepper
Directions
1. In 12-inch nonstick skillet, cook bacon over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until crisp. Remove one half of the bacon and reserve. Drain fat, reserving 2 tablespoons drippings.
2. In same skillet, heat reserved drippings and one half of the bacon and cook onion, stirring occasionally, 5 minutes or until tender. Add garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, 1 minute. Stir in green beans, water, vinegar, sugar, Lawry's® Seasoned Salt and Lawry's® Seasoned Pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer covered, stirring occasionally, 30 minutes or until beans are tender. Garnish with reserved bacon.
TIP: To reduce cook time, first microwave green beans with 1 tablespoon water at HIGH 5 minutes. Then decrease cook time in skillet to 15 minutes.
