Charred Tomato Salsa

Cook Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 3 cups or 12 (1/4-cup) servings.


Ingredients

1 1/2 pounds vine-ripened tomatoes, cut into thick slices

1 medium onion, cut into thick slices

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

2 tablespoons lime juice

1 teaspoon Lawry's® Garlic Salt

1/4 teaspoon chipotle chile pepper

Directions1. Brush tomato and onion slices with oil.

2. Broil or grill over medium heat 4 to 5 minutes per side or until tomatoes and onions are browned.

3. Chop tomatoes and onions. Place in medium bowl. Add cilantro, lime juice, garlic salt and chipotle chile pepper; toss well. Let stand at room temperature 15 minutes to allow flavors to blend. Serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for grilled meat, chicken or fish.
