New Thrills on the Grill
Unique foods to grill, plus new spins on an old favorite
Everyone loves burgers and hotdogs. That doesn’t mean you can’t try new foods on the grill or get creative with old favorites. There are many dishes, including those traditionally cooked on the stovetop or in the oven (like fish and vegetables) that turn out great on the grill.
Our favorite grill candidates include vegetable kabobs, sliced and wedged, or whole potatoes with the skins on, zucchini and corn on the cob.
Brush potato slices or wedges with a mixture of LAWRY’S® Less Sodium Seasoned Salt, LAWRY’S® Garlic Pepper, and a cooking oil. Puncture several small holes in whole potatoes, wrap in aluminum foil and place on the grill for a tasty “baked” potato.
Chop red and green bell peppers into chunks, slice up a zucchini sprinkle the vegetables with LAWRY’S® Less Sodium Seasoned Salt and thread onto a wooden skewer for fast and easy shish kabobs. To prevent scorching, soak the wooden skewers in water before grilling. Then, place your kabobs directly on the grill for a slightly charbroiled effect or wrap in aluminum foil. Put a spin on corn on-the-cob by sprinkling them with a blend of LAWRY’S® Less Sodium Seasoned Salt and a dash of lime juice.
Reinventing old favorites Most everyone grew up eating hamburgers and hotdogs in the summer and while the juicy burgers slathered with mayo and mustard are still treasured classics, it doesn’t hurt to shake things up.
Add a flavor boost to your burgers with LAWRY’S® Marinades. Just brush burger patties with your favorite Marinade frequently during the cooking process.
How about a spicy burger with LAWRY’S® Louisiana Red Pepper Marinade? Or, try our Teriyaki Marinade with Pineapple Juice for a little taste of the islands. Grill sliced onions or pineapple rings, brush with additional Marinade, then top burgers with the grilled rings for a flavorful alternative to ketchup. You can also mix your favorite LAWRY’S Marinade into mayonnaise as a delicious spread for burger buns.
